Overtime taking a toll on Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks in Stanley Cup Finals Series – NHL news
The fans may want the 2013 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Final games to never come to an end, but all that overtime play is definitely takings its toll on the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams are just hoping to get as much rest
as possible while staying sharp for the next matchup.
With Game 1 being the fifth longest game in Stanley Cup Final history and lasting over two hours in length along with Game 2 also going into an extended period, both sides are working on plans to take out the other in regulation instead of having to go into
a hectic sudden death.
“We flew out this morning. Everyone was sleeping. It was an early flight,” said Tyler Seguin, following the Game 2 victory. “It's a great feeling. We all felt it last night. That being said, it's a new day today. I'm looking forward to going to nap in my
own bed today and relax and get ready to play at home.”
For Boston, it was a big accomplishment taking Game 2 from Chicago on their turf and now going back to the TD Garden in Boston, the Bruins are hoping to capitalise on the crowd roaring in their favour.
“I think as players, we've gone through things like that before. It's just about getting your rest,” said Keith. “It's not rocket science. You just need to get sleep and eat the best you can. Do all those little things to help prepare so you feel good and
ready to go.”
Both teams are those who have won the Stanley Cup at least once in the past three years. Chicago Blackhawks brought it home for the first time in over 40 years back in 2010, while the Boston Bruins took it away the season following that. They know how to
win and are looking to take advantage of that experience in this series.
Game 3 will definitely be one to watch and not miss at any cost. It is scheduled to be in Boston on Monday at 8 PM ET at the TD Garden.
