  1. Basal Body Temperature, Salivation tracking, cervical fluid tracking. Look these things up, and start implementing them. My periods are kind of irregular too, like hers. I have 28 day cycles, then 45 day cycles! There are a lot of things that can cause this. Being overweight, stress, etc. I take my temperature every day with a machine, and it predicts/tracks my ovulation, but I notice it isn't right on with my cervical ovulation fluid, so I kind of have to take all the different factors into consideration and narrow it down the best I can.  You can also buy ovulation predictor kits at walmart, walgreens, etc.

  2. 2 cents here... :)

She should go see a gyno. Having such an irregular period is going to make it very hard to get preggo.

Normally women have a cycle.. Meaning she/women should know how many days apart each cycle is or at least when the next should start.

Because her cycles are so out of wack it is going to be hard to figure out when she will ovulate.

She can also start taking her temp in the AM BEFORE she moves, talks, gets up to go pee. This temp will help show her when she ovulates and after tracking symptoms she may eventually even be able to tell just by those symptoms when she IS ovulating.

She can get a BBT thermometer at walmart for like 10 dollars.. She can then go online to Fertilityfriend.com and enter her info (temps, symptoms, etc) in to there and it will tell her when she ovulated.

Please remember NOT to use a regular thermometer because they don't give an exact temp. Normal thermometer only show temps in the tenths, ie 99.5, 101.1 but a BBT thermometer goes more exact, example, 99.54, 99.64... The extra hundreths of her temp help predict ovulation..

When charting she has to get her average temp (usually taken while she is having her period) then as she takes the temp each day.. it will vary and she will notice a DROP about half a degree. (99.54 to 99.04) then ONCE she ovulates usualy the next day.. It will go UP a whole degree. and stay up for about 3 days or there abouts and come back down.. If she is preggo it will stay up permantently till she gives birth.

Check www.fertilityfriend.com. The site gives you all kinds of tips..

Good Luck and Baby Dust to you both.

  3. If you really want to become knowledgeable, try the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility", It is great for women trying to conceive as well as women who just want to know how their body and cycles work. Also, she could start charting her Basal Body Temp. Over a few months, you see a pattern with your temps and that can help you pinpoint ovulation. Or, try using an ovulation prediction kit.
