I am 26 years old, have been off the pill for 2 full cycles (this is my third). I thought I was due to O yesterday and have been doing OPK tests for the past week since Monday and all negative. Last saturday I had some change in CM but nothing much compared to last cycle where CM changed for a full week. I have had O pain and slight cramping for the past week...i'm getting all the symptoms of ovulation and have been for the past 2 cycles but don't know if i'm ovulating yet since coming off the pill??... from calculating my cycle days based on what happened last month i am due for AF to come in about 10 - 12 days from now...when should i do an early HPT?? anyone have any advice for me?? Thanks : )

  1. I went off of BCP last July and it took nearly a year for me to start ovulating again.  At first I obsessed with ovulation predictors but got mad because they never showed I ovulated.  My GYN told me it would likely take up to 6 months so I should be patient.  I quit stressing about it, and this past May started having regular cycles with ovulation.  YAY!  I guess my advice is to be patient...it may take much longer than 2 months for your body to remember what to do after being on BCP.

  2. I would wait to do the HPT until your AF is missed. Then take it. Those test say they can detect it but you might just set yourself up for dissappointment if you take one early. The whole pills thing is very confusing for me too. I took the pill for 10 years and just now coming off of it after nine months !! Good Luck & Baby dust to you!
