hi, no most woman ovulate after there period. depending on your cycle and how long it is. if your a 43 day cycle than every 4 months you wont get a period and basically you only have one shot in 2 months to try and get pregnant. its not easy for them sort of people as it is for the 28 day cycle woman. i hope you can understand what iam meaning. well eg: iam a 28 day cycle person and i ovulate every 14 days spot on is my ovulation date iam fertile the day before each ovulation day. good luck

People who say you're most fertile 14 days after your period aren't actually correct.  I have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 15-19. Therefore day 14 isn't always my peak fertile day. Not everyone is text book (14th day).

The only way you can really tell when you ovulate is to chart your waking temperature every morning and get a graph. www.fertilityfriend.com is the best site to use.

Another way is to take ovulation predictor tests and check your cervical mucus.

Women are most fertile at ovulation which normally occurs 14 days after the first day of your period (depending on the length of your cycle).

  This isn't always accurate as some women ovulate at slightly different times or have longer or shorter cycles than the average. It is very unlikely that you ovulate within the few days prior to your period starting.

Women are most fertile in the middle of their cycle, i.e if yours lasts 28 days you will be most fertile at day 14. Count day one from the start of your period, and count how many days between this day, and the day before the start of your next period. This is the length of your cycle.
