I've had this happen quite a few times, and I just really wanna know what exactly it is.

Gah it hurts.

And the pop sounded...crispy? Don't know how else to explain it.

  1. oh my gosh this happened to me, and when i did i was still in shock. And the pop was so loud ( it was during night time), But it doesn't seem to happen anymore.

  2. Sounds like TMJ

    TMJ Syndrome Overview

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome or TMJ joint disorders are medical problems related to the jaw joint. The TMJ connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull (temporal bone) in front of the ear. Certain facial muscles control chewing. Problems in this area can cause head and neck pain, a jaw that is locked in position or difficult to open, problems biting, and popping sounds when you bite.

    it is scary though

  4. TMJ(TMD)

That was how my TMJ started too just by popping then it locked. Get it checked out before yours locks too.

  5. Mine does that all the time. It's perfectly normal. Just this little disorder thing. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it stays. After a while you get used to it and it doesn't hurt.

  6. its not much to worry about you probably have some air or water there causing pressure. i happens to me when i go swimming in a pool or ona an airplane.

  7. Probably just gas or liquid moving quickly through a tight space in the joint.

  8. Its probably just your jaw popping.  Nothing to worry about
