Owen Coyle pleased as Bolton Wanderers sign Manchester City defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dedryck-Boyata-c10742 on season long loan
Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata on a season long loan. The 20-year-old central defender chose to leave the Etihad Stadium because he was aware he would not be awarded too many first team opportunities
with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 all competing for the same spot.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international revealed he was looking forward to the season long spell at the Reebok Stadium and working under manager Owen Coyle. Coyle has made himself a reputation of getting the best out of young players who move to the club on a temporary
move, with Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 striker Daniel Sturridge the latest players to emerge as successful first team players after a loan spell at the club.
Boyata was confident he would, like Wilshere and Sturridge, greatly benefit from a loan spell at the club. The Belgian defender was aware that he still had to learn and improve, after which he could return to Manchester City and fight for a place in the
starting XI. He admitted he felt he had been given a great opportunity to join Bolton Wanderers just days before the summer transfer window closed.
Boyata said on the club’s official website:
“I'm really looking forward to working with the manager. I have seen how he got the best out of young players like Jack Wilshere and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076.
I am only 20 years old and I am still learning and want to improve. To come to Bolton Wanderers for a loan period is a great opportunity to do that.”
While he began his youth career with Brussels, Boyata transferred to Manchester City in 2006. In the 2009-2010 season he finally made his debut for the senior team. However, his appearances, which were mostly as a substitute, were limited throughout the
two seasons. He made a total of 23 appearances in all competitions and found the back of the net once.
The Bolton Wanderers boss revealed he was glad to have secured the Manchester City defender on a loan move since he had been facing competition from a number of sides. The move comes at a time when the future of Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 is uncertain.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have reportedly made a bid which had been rejected by the Trotters.
However, the 25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international could be tempted to a move to the top four side and Coyle has done well to ensure he has sufficient replacements. Coyle said he saw potential in the strong and dynamic defender and was looking forward to his
contributions in the new season. Boyata is Coyle’s sixth signing of the season.
Coyle said in an interview:
“I am delighted that we have completed the loan deal for Dedryck, because there was interest from a number of other clubs in taking him on loan.
He is a tremendous addition to the squad and his versatility means he can operate at centre-half and full-back.”
