Owen Coyle praises http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 de Gea, remains confident Bolton Wanderers can beat Manchester United
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle said he was confident in his side’s ability to defeat English Premier League Champions Manchester United. However, he did not think it would be because of the Manchester United goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463, who has not been
in the best of forms.
The 20-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-21 international replaced former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar as the first choice stopper at Old Trafford this season. However, he has not been able to impress in the English Premier League so far.
The young stopper conceded two goals on his debut for the Red Devils in the Community Shield fixture against local rivals Manchester City. De Gea would have suffered further criticism had Manchester United lost the match, but they went on to score 3 goals
and win the match.
Since then the Spaniard has had nervy matches in the English Premier League, but the Bolton Wanderers boss did not think De Gea would be the weak link in their clash. He praised the new Manchester United goalkeeper and said he considered him to be a top
goalkeeper.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“David de Gea is a top goalkeeper - there is no doubt about it.
With Manchester United, it is difficult to find any weaknesses, but my focus will be on making sure my group are at their best.”
After a less than perfect start, De Gea has since then made amends. He not only kept a clean sheet against Tottenham Hotspur in his first match at Old Trafford, he saved a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 before the international
break.
The Bolton Wanderers boss urged his side to give it their best against Manchester United at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday. He was confident they would be able to get a decent result against the Premier League champions if they gave it their all.
Coyle said:
“We know as long as we get to our maximum that we can sleep well at night.
What we don't want to do is be below that - it leaves that bad taste in your mouth, so I will be stressing to my group that we have to get to our best.
If we do that, although we certainly won't be able to match Manchester United over the course of a season, on any given day we can win these games.”
