Owen Coyle prepared to let Gary Cahill go, Tottenham Hotspur favourites to sign the defender
Owen Coyle, the Bolton Wanderers manager, revealed that while he did not want to sell Gary Cahill in the summer transfer window, the club would benefit from the player’s sale in terms of revenue generated.
The highly rated England defender is being eyed by some of the top English Premier League sides and could be leaving the Reebok Stadium this summer.
So far Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are rumoured to be interested in the centre-back, who is expected to fetch more than £20 million if he is sold.
Coyle said he was certain Cahill would be an excellent signing for any top club in the English Premier League, he said while speaking to reporters:
“I believe he could play for any club - I'd put my reputation on it
There's been a lot of interest - and you don't have to be a genius to work out some of the top clubs in this country have been interested - but nothing concrete yet.”
While Coyle insisted he did not wish to lose Cahill, he admitted the club would benefit from his sale. The Bolton boss continued:
“He is not a player we want to lose, I have to stress that, but we have to accept if it is the right deal for the club and the player it has to be done and that then frees up cash for us to invest in the club.

Coyle does not wish to keep players who want to leave the club, unlike Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp, who seems to have a hard time letting go of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
Recent reports reveal that the Spurs have emerged as favourites to sign the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international in an exchange deal.
Redknapp is reportedly willing to bring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 to White Hart Lane in exchange for two defenders he no longer has use for.
Cahill arrived at the Reebok Stadium in the winter transfer window of 2008 on a three year deal from Premier League Aston Villa.
Since then he has gone on to make 111 appearances for Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League and has managed to score 11 goals for the Trotters.
