Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed he believes his side would have stood a better chance at fighting relegation if they had retained defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439.
Cahill was sold to English Premier League giants Chelsea in the winter transfer window for a fee of 7 million pounds. The central defender has signed a long term contract with the Blues and circumstances have ensured he was thrown into first team action
shortly after his arrival.
Due to the injury sustained by skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 in the centre of defence. While he has not done as well as was expected of him, his performance proving he lacked the experience of playing for
a big club, he will surely improve in the future.
His former side Bolton Wanderers are currently struggling in the English Premier League and occupy the second last position on the Premier League table. The Trotter’s are just a point clear from the bottom of the table and will require a win in their upcoming
fixture to help them towards survival.
As fate would have it, Bolton Wanderers take on none other than Chelsea in their next English Premier League fixture over the weekend. Cahill will face his former side for the first time since switching clubs in the January transfer window.
The Scottish manager admitted Cahill had been a terrific player in his side and that his continued involvement would have helped his side avoid relegation. Unfortunately for the Trotters, Cahill sealed his move to Stamford Bridge and instead of helping Bolton
Wanderers, will be looking to deliver defeat to Coyle’s men.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“It is terrific to have that sort of player in your armoury - we wish we still had him, but we don't.”
Meanwhile, Coyle also spoke about the possibility of Andre Villas-Boas being sacked mid-season. He revealed he was certain the Portuguese manager would be able to turn things around if he was given more time. He continued:
“You can't come in, click your fingers and see everything fall into place, particularly at an elite club. Sometimes it takes time, but I do believe http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have got the right man to bring it all to fruition.”
