Owen Hargreaves still out injured as Michael Owen returns to team sessions for Manchester United
There are players who were once stars but now are nothing more than a featured item at the bench of Old Trafford and to top the list is the injury prone Owen Hargreaves and out of favour Michael Owen.
Just a few months back, it was confirmed that the talented English international was suffering from chronic tendonitis which meant that the rest of his footballing career was at risk.
This also explained why the player spent so much time in the injury zone. Just recently a few matches back, the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was forced to play the half-fit player and as a result he got himself injured again, just 5 minutes
in play.
Now, Ferguson has confirmed that Hargreaves is still recovering from the injury he took against Wolverhampton. The legendary Scotsman also had news on one of the former best players, Michael Owen.
Ferguson stated that Owen had recovered from his injury and was back on track with the team. He told that the striker had even started attending training sessions with the team therefore he will be soon running on field once again.
The ex-Liverpool striker was struck by a setback when he collected a hamstring injury therefore ever since October, the player has been on the road to a comeback.
While talking to media, the Manchester United manager commented on the issue, “Michael Owen’s training now, he's doing very well. He took part in the football side of it yesterday but I would say he's two weeks away (from playing). We need to make sure he
does a good stint of football training before we bring him into the games.”
Ferguson looked disappointed when he spoke about Owen Hargreaves’ injury. He stated that he was an important part of the squad and therefore his inclusion and presence was vital.
The ex-Bayern Munich player made his first appearance in over two years therefore all his fans were disappointed when he was injured again. Ferguson added on the issue, saying, “It's a bad blow for the lad and it's hard to take, given the length of time
he's been out and the amount of football he's missed.”
