Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini has gone on to admit that Owen Hargreaves is going to be given his first start for Manchester City, as the team take on Birmingham City in the League Cup.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international went on to sign City as part of a free transfer this summer. However, his transfer to City was rather shocking for most, mainly because of the fact that he had spent a portion of his career with Manchester United, who are
hailed to be City’s biggest rivals.
Going into the game with Birmingham, City are going to be without the midfield duo of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 doesn’t seem to have any choice, but to go ahead and allow Hargreaves to get his first ever start in a City jersey.
However, despite the manager being willing to award the midfielder the start, he admitted that in the end it would be the player’s decision to decide and tell the team if he was fit enough to start the game of not.
"I need to speak with Owen and on Tuesday we will decide if he will play, but he probably will," the Italian manager told reporters.

"He has been in full training but he is not 100 per cent. He could play maybe 30 to 45 minutes."

At the same time, Mancini went on to drop a massive hint about what team he would be using in the game against Birmingham, as he openly admitted that he would be rotating the team that faced Fulham this past weekend.

"I will change the team absolutely because I need five or six players resting," he added.

"We want to keep going in the competition but we also need to change players. We also need to recover http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 and some of the other players."
With City rearing to go, it seems like Birmingham might just be blown to smithereens in the League Cup game between the two sides.
