Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson is reportedly going to place the veteran striker in the squad for the upcoming game against Swansea, as Danny Welbeck is sidelined due to injury.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 man has endured an injury-plagued career and that did not change when he arrived in Manchester. However he made an impact during his first season at the helm, scoring a late injury time winner against Manchester City and bagging a hat
trick against Wolfsburg in the UEFA Champions League.
His performances prompted Fergie to hand him a new deal last term, but Owen hasn’t been able to make the most of it due to the time spent in the treatment room. But he has nursed himself back to fitness and is raring to go.
“I’ve been back in a couple of weeks and it’s exciting to come in and know you’re going to be training rather than wandering off to the gym to do all the rehab stuff so it’s better late than never,” he said.
Luckily for the forward he has been presented with a rare chance to make an impact, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 limped off in the Manchester derby and is set to miss the remaining two games of the season.
Ferguson’s side need to get six points in the remaining fixtures and if things do not go their way or they require a late winner, there is no one with better predatory instincts in the team than Owen, who is allegedly going to be on the bench for the Swansea’s
visit to Old Trafford.
With Welbeck out, Javier Hernandez is next in line to start the game but the rest of the line-up should not be changed much, except for minor tweaking here and there.
Fergie opted for a five-man midfield against City, but he should revert to his tried and tested 4-4-2 formation when they host the Premier League’s only Welsh side.
Swansea have proven themselves as a poor man’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 over the course of the season and proved to be a tough opponent for the Red Devils at the Liberty Stadium. But the home side will be hoping for a much simpler game when things kick-off on Sunday.
