Manchester United’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 has gone on to reveal that he is contemplating calling it quits on his playing career in another year or two.
The Former England international is currently a part of the Manchester United squad, but his contract is set to run out at the end of the current season.
Once that does happen, the thirty two year old is more than likely to be dropped by the Red Devils, as they look to create room for other players in their squad.
However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is not going to give up hope of playing football at the highest level just yet, as he has admitted that he is looking to continue playing for a little longer.
Despite having said that, Owen also insisted that he doesn’t seem himself playing for as long as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 has, but hopes to see out another season or two at least.
When talking about his future and comparing it to the likes of Giggs, the United forward is quoted to have said: "I must admit, I don't think I am going to be one of the players who is still playing when they are 37 or 38 like Ryan.”
"But I certainly think I still have another two or three years left in me.”
"I listen to players in the dressing room; some players are struggling to get out of bed and complain about their knees or Achilles.”
"I honestly can't resonate with them. I never get any pains like that. It is probably strange for people to hear that because they know I am injured.”
He then went on to insist that he was mentally and physically in great shape and hoped for that to be enough to help him carry on playing for a couple more seasons.
When talking about his state of mind, the forward went on to add:
"My body feels as though it can play and my mind wants to and the aim is to keep going for at least another couple of years."
It is now up to the forward to decide just what he wants to do with his future and when he wants to call it quits.
