Own a Dell laptop without

Question

Own a Dell laptop without wifi or wireless capabilities. Don't want wireless on this Dell (home pc). Now own a 2nd laptop (work pc) - a Sony that has wireless. I have a wireless router, and would like to set up the Linksys using the Dell non-wireless laptop, but don't seem to be able to utilize it to set up the wireless system. I am not able to install software due to admin lock on the Sony laptop. what to do? I hope this makes sense.
