Owner Jim Irsay tweets reflect Andrew Luck next Indianapolis Colts quarterback-NFL News
Proving his speculated nature to be true, Indianapolis Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, has attempted his best to hold back the otherwise apparent satisfaction over the talent and skills of the top draft prize, Andrew Luck, but the excitement reflected in his tweets
depicts that the Stanford College’s player is surely Colts’ future quarterback.
Irsay, who is a regular user of the online social network, Twitter, most frequently uses it as a platform to break information around important developments at Indianapolis, but often in between the lines.
However, this time around, he is more open to admit that he and his managers were content with the calibre and talent of Luck.
A number of commentators are unanimous in their view that Colts have already made their mind about Luck, but it is tendency of the owner that he leaves things uncertain and in suspense until very last moment.
Jim Irsay tweeted on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 that:
“Met with A Luck#12 n Indy 2day for 3 hrs; it's easy 2c why the #1 pick n this Stanford phenom has been synonymous with each other 4over 2 yrs.”
Luck, who is rated atop of the drafts list this season, had been leading the prospects of joining Indianapolis Colts, who qualify for the top prize this year.
Lately, another draft player, Baylor College’s Robert Griffin III has steadily gained the ratings to come almost closer to Luck’s position on the list.
This made the management double-minded about their choice of next quarterback. It also prompted Colts’ managers recently to arrange an exclusive workout with Luck.
A similar offer has reportedly been made to Griffin III, but he refused to entertain the request. One of the reasons described behind the private workout out given by Colts was that their general manager, Ryan Grigson, who had missed Luck’s pro day due to
some unknown illness, wanted to view the player personally.
A contingent led by the GM went to Stanford on last Tuesday to view the private workout and all of them including the owner are said to be impressed with it.
The owner has admitted the fact in his tweets, but as usual, he remained sketchy in disclosing the complete truth.
The 2012 draft is due to be held from April 26 to 28 and both stakeholders have a plenty of time to take the process from the interest level to get engaged in negotiation over terms of the potential deal.
However, a delay is expected in the working out of the details of the contract since the player has scheduled visits to a couple of more teams. As of the latest, he will be working out for the Washington Redskins next.
