Question:

Owner died over a yr ago--how can I close the group--there is no activity except robots.?

I am the only active moderator--our owner died nearly 1 1/2 yrs. ago. thanx for the help.

  2. Unless you are not the privileged moderator, you cannot close the group or take over the group. Best advice: start a new group as the owner of the group.

  3. Unless you were given rights to do that along with moderator status (by the dead owner when s/he made you moderator), you can't.

    If everyone leaves the group (or is unsubbed) it might shut down the list down automatically, not sure.

  4. many many groups are in this same situation and has been made a suggestion with yahoo under Adopting Groups, who in turn says they are considering the best way to handle this- but as of today there is no solution.

    there is nothing you can do unless the owner had given you those priviledges to make such changes. if there is no activity but bots, then just leave the group and create a new one or join  a different group.
