Owner of hangun moving from florida to new jersey. do i have to do anything?

i live in florida and own a gun, i am moving to new jersey. do i get to keep my gun? i dont have a concealed weapons permit as you dont need one in florida. I only keep it in my home for safety reasons

  1. There will be a lot more paperwork involved in owning a gun in NJ than there is in FL.  Call the police department in the town you're moving to and they should be able to help you out.


  2. go to the police station and ask them what to do. i know in some places, if you have the gun in a locked box in the trunk, it is considered alright-they will know the laws the best. good luck/

  3. Ask in NJ. But be careful transporting it. I would completely disassemble it and store it with the parts separated.
