Owning a gerbil in MI?

I've herad it is illegal to own a gerbil in some states. Is it illegal to own gerbils in Michigan?

yes they are completely legal to own in michigan.  they are illegal in california because if gerbils were let loose in the wild there they could survive and cause a competition with the native species. they are legal in all the other states.
