Oxford: Stan James Bookmakers Stakes – Preview (Part 1)
Oxford greyhound racing track will host Stan James Bookmakers Stakes on Sunday, January 29. It will be a Grade A1 race on 450m long flat track. The total prize money for the event will be £80.
Six hound including Hard Luck Emma, Dippy Doo, Prima Facie, How About That, Movealong Max and On Offer will participate in the high-voltage contest of the weekend.
Each of the competitors seems to be h**l-bent to win the event. The bookies are also geared up to place bets on the favourite runners.
In a bid to make predictions about the results of the race, we present a brief analyses of the runners in the light of their recent records and salient skills. This overview will help the bettors to opt for the right hound.
Hard Luck Emma
Hard Luck Emma will break from trap 1. The black and white b***h is trained by M Massey. Since November 2011, she has been in great form, winning five out of the nine races she ran. The brilliant b***h finished first with a big margin of 3 lengths
in her last race on January 15.
Whelped in January 2009, the three-year-old started her career on August 2, 2010 at the same track. After bagging her first victory in just second race, she had a slump for the next three months. She has experienced some short-term lean patches throughout
her career.
At the moment, Hard Luck Emma is backed by a winning momentum which may help her to thrive tomorrow provided she remains consistent.
Dippy Doo
Trained by T Kibble, Dippy Doo will break from trap 2 tomorrow. Fresh from his glorious triumph of January 21, the brindle dog will be looking to notch up this title as well. His last success came with a huge margin of 3 ½ lengths. Starting his career
on June 14, 2011, the young hound has amassed five victories so far.
Bred by Kinloch Brae and Vatican Reba, Dippy Doo was whelped in February, 2010. Since the dawn of 2012, the dog is enjoying grand form. This is sufficient to assume that he will make a mark on Sunday, provided he carries forward his momentum.
Prima Facie
Trained by N Carter, the novice hound made his debut on November 14, 2011. The fawn dog impressed all by making a hat-trick of victories in November-December. During the calendar month, he won one out of the three races he ran, boosting up his morale.
Interestingly, he has won most of his races by narrow margins.
Now, he is all ready to thrive in the coming event. Breaking from trap 3, he is likely to have great time tomorrow. He may also get a favourite tag. The son of Balintore Brave and Prima Donna took birth in April, 2009. The dog’s young age and sheer
fighting spirit give him an edge over his competitors. Now it is up to him how he capitalises on this advantage. One thing is sure that he is always uncertain.
