My wife and I have job offers in both Oxfordshire and Gwynedd in North Wales. We've been to both places on vacation, in the summer but neither of us have ever lived anywhere in the UK. Both jobs pay about the same.

  1. Isn't North Wales the place where the language fascists make the kids speak Welsh at all times at school, no matter where they are from?

As English is not my first language, I'd never in a thousand years subject my children to such a useless exercise.

Beats me how they think they'll ever get highly-qualified workers to that part of the world with that policy....

    So.... I recommend Oxfordshire.

  2. I lived in North Wales for three years and can only advise you to do one thing ... choose Oxfordshire!!   Much better weather and I could go on and and on ... but I won't.   Winters in North Wales can be really really wet and miserable.

  3. The people in Oxfordshire are more friendly and kind. But the scenery in North Wales is far more beautiful. However I would choose Oxfordshire. Weather conditions are better and it is an organized city that has a wholesome atmosphere and really easy to live.

  4. I would opt for Oxford as the Welsh are a funny lot, and don't even tollerate people visiting for a vacation.(link provided)

Oxford is a lovely City, and far friendlier than Wales, and although Wales has some beautiful scenery, they don't like sharing it. it's a well known fact!.
