What is the oxidation state of sulphur in Na2S2O8?

  1. is there any such compound? I have seen Na2S2O7 and the oxidation number of sulphur is +6 there.


  2. 2NaSO4 the four is subscript (ie small)

  3. The compound is called sodium persulphate. O has a xidation state of -2, Na +1 that means sulphur's oxidation state is +7

    (0=2*(+1)+8*(-2)+2*(+7))
