is this ok? i was wondering for my dad and my brother, my dad has to wear white t's under his uniforms for work and they have sweat stains. my brother has a little bit of stains on the underarm of the shirt, and i'm afraid of bleaching it to dissolve the designs on the front, and bc i don't want the armpits brighter than the rest of the shirt, lol.

  1. i tried oxy clean in the spray bottle didnt work for me. my friend told me about a product at walmart with purple lettering and a white bottle, so im goin to try that....

  2. If the stains are set in, for instance if the clothing has been washed and dried in the dryer it will be difficult to get out the stain.. If the design is like a transferred item, I don't think that bleach will hurt them.. I have not been very impressed with the oxyclean products, they have never worked for me.  Clorox has a new bleach additive out that is called ultimate care bleach.  It may help, also try some of the stain removers like shout, or try tide with bleach and concentrate on the stains by pouring the liquid detergent directly on the stains before washing.  Also, the dollar tree store has a product called Awesome, it can be used in the laundry and is a good product.. Good luck

  3. I've had this happen before, too. I suggest putting the shirt in the washer on the lowest water level with detergent, OxiClean, and Biz. Let the washer agitate (leave the top open if it's a top load washer) then let it set for while. I just kept repeating this - agitate and set - for a day and then let it go through the entire wash cycle. I was happy with the results.  It shouldn't hurt the designs or the armpits won't be brighter. Good luck.

  4. Oxyclean should be safe on non-white materials (check the box first though).  Just put a scoop of it in with the load of laundry, or if you need something stronger, I think you can make a paste out of it and apply it to the stains.  I do think it's okay for colors though.  Good luck!
