associated with this type of pain medication. My Mother takes them and has tried others and has the same reaction. So not looking for answers telling us its a allergic reaction. I suggested to her that she take a singular today as I read that helps. She has chronic nerve pain. Do any of you have suggestions other than creams that might help. Thanks.

  1. The itching is just a side affect of the medication, It is very common. You could try taking some oral benadryl, I wouldn't think Singulair would help as much as Benadryl. Mostly because singulair is an antileukotriene and benadryl is an antihistamine. The only drawback is that the Benadryl can make you drowsy, you could also try OTC Claritin which is considered a second generation antihistamine that is non-drowsy.

  2. i would try benedryl.
