Oxymoron?: "Shared Commonalities"?

Does that make sense or is it saying the same thing twice. If so help me rephrase it. I want to say that they share similarities.

  1. It's the oposite of an oxymoron. I think it's called a tautology.

    There are similarities between them would be okay... or they possess commonalities.
