Advantages of Using an Oyster Card:

 Time: Oyster saves you time - no more queuing for tickets as you can pay in advance.

 Cheapest: Oyster will always automatically calculate the cheapest fare for the journeys you make in a single day. Oyster single fares are always cheaper than cash.

 Reusable: Oyster card is reusable - just top it up with cash or renew your Travel card/Bus Pass when needed.

 Insurance: It is important to report your Oyster card lost or stolen as soon as possible. If your card has been protected with a security question and answer, Transport for London will freeze the cash value on your card and prevent anyone else from using it

Disadvantage of Using an Oyster Card:

 Buses: Now that children under 16 can go on buses for free it is very crowded and hardly any room for paying customer, so a bus driver may be distracted and let people on who haven’t scanned their oyster card; this is mainly a disadvantages for transport for London (TFL)
