i just wanted to know say if i tap in at mile end and then change trains to a district line and get of at bank (staition) would i be charged double for changing trains

  1. It reads your card at the barriers, but it doesn't know what you do  in the meantime. You could get on a train in central London, go all the way to the end of the line in zone 6, and get on another back but if you got out one station away from where you started that's all you'd be charged for.

  3. No. You only get charged if you exit a station. Changing platforms or lines, does not require you to tap in again

  4. No once you have crossed through the gate line of a stsation you can change lines as often as you want, on the same fare, its only if you leave a station and pass through the gates that you will get charged.

    charging  is based upon zone travel.

  6. You will only be charged for a single journey starting in Zone 2 and terminating in Zone 1.
