They only have to be validated if you are under 16 so that you can get free travel. I'm not, I'm 26 so no, ive never been caught!!! But I would assume and hope that you(not you personally! but those that play music from their phones and act like d@*k heads!) would get kicked off the bus and you wouldn't be able to get through the barrier at the tube stations!
