Oyster photocard?

i have recently moved back into london and have applied for an oyster card.

i was sent a photocard for 16+ in full time education.

do these work the same as the normal cards?

do i have to buy credit for them?

or touch them on the thing when i get on a bus?

You will have to by credit for your 16+ oyster card, it does not accept pay as you go, you will need to buy a weekly bus pass/travel card on your oyster card. And yes you will still need to touch them on the sensor when you board a bus.

i don't touch them things, oysters are aphrodisiacs, there's no way i want to get excited on the tube in the rush hour

You still have to buy credit for them, or put a season ticket on them. And yes, you touch the reader on the bus and at the tube station.
