Oysters on the half shell. know a good restaurant?

please not red lobster. the ones in my area are a consistant disappointment

Where are you located?  I would choose a restaurant known for it's fresh seafood - the most fresh seafood around your area.  The restaurant that I used to eat oysters at, specialized in serving super fresh seafood, particularly oysters.  Alas, they closed a few months ago.

I don't know of a chain restaurant that has consistently good oysters.  It would help if you could let us know what area of the country you are considering.  I can recommend some good restaurants in the Maryland area.  Without more details, I would say to stick to local joints in towns that are closer to an ocean.
