Ozge Bayrak tames Zuzana Pavelkova in Women’s Singles round-of-16 at Turkiye International 2012
Turkey’s in-form female player Ozge Bayrak continued her scintillating performance and secured her berth in Women’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Czech Republic’s Zuzana Pavelkova in round-of-16 battle at Turkiye International 2012 on Thursday, December
20, in Turkey.
The impressive Ozge, seeded at number seven in Women’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played with remarkable speed and confidence and easily registered her mark over Zuzana in just 25 minutes.
Ozge was in complete command of rallies as she played with tremendous precision and remained successful in crushing her lower ranked rival in straight games with a completely one-sided margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Zuzana tried her level best to maintain her winning run in the tournament but she failed to cope up with the incredible skills of her local opponent and lost the match in a vulnerable fashion.
Ozge delivered extremely well from the opening points of first set as she played with remarkable speed and took over the charge of rallies.
Ozge showed that she has obtained top class skills on court and remained successful in getting a strong domination in the arena.
It was Ozge who did not show any respect to her passionate rival in the starting half and took a comfortable lead on score board.
Zuzana tried to put up strong resistance but failed to take charge of rallies and remained struggling in the ending half.
It was a smooth sailing for the in-form Ozge who did not face any reasonable resistance from her challenger and won the opening game with a comfortable 21-13 difference on the board.
Zuzana was again in trouble in the following set as she received a severe treatment from her opponent who was flawless on court.
The hard to return smashes and net killings kept Ozge ahead of her challenger all the way until the end of first half in second set.
Ozge was composed and positive on court in the ending points of second set and bagged the second game with a superb margin of 21-11.
The local lady made her home crowd happy by delivering superb performance in the pre-quarter-final battle as she ended it up in a lopsided fashion with a 21-13 and 21-11 score on the board.
