Question:

Ozone Layer and Polar Ice Caps?

If we reduce Co2 emissions and stop destroying our ozone layer, will it fix itself?

And if the global temperature drops again, will the polar ice caps freeze up again, and will the sea level lower again?

  1. There is a natural system to both these processes....

if we were to compeltely stop emitting ozone depleting chemicals (ODC) then yes it would recover TO THE STATE IT WAS AT BEFORE WE BEGAN EMITTING....this state fluctuated based on the atmospheric chemistry usually annually or seasonally but also on much longer time scales as well.....

the same goes for the climate....if we were to stop emitting greenhouse gases (GHG) then eventually the climate would stabalize to the way it was BEFORE WE BEGAN EMITTING...this too fluctuates on longer climatic cycles with several drivers including the sun's cycles and how the earth revolves as well as atmospheric chemistry
