Ozzie Guillen terms Logan Morrison’s decline surprising and weird - MLB Update

Left-fielder Logan Morrison has been far from what he is. Unable to make the most of his at-bats, he has disappointed the Miami Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen.
Amid an offence suffering already below par performances from the rest of the hitters, he has accelerated the decline.
He is a kind of hitter who takes great pride even when the rest of the players struggle on the plate. Being deceived by the pitchers through-and-through is uncharacteristic of him.
Thus far, only two home-runs have come off his bat, while the manager believes, with slight adjustments on the plate, he may have got many of those.
The manager talked of his outings and discussed how he failed to connect properly. His inability to get rid of certain issues has cost him a poor season so far, the manager maintained.
"That's very surprising, weird and confusing to see the guy struggling like he is right now," Guillen said. "He's a way better hitter than what he's shown…Right now, mechanics, he's doing a couple of stuff that don't help him, and as soon as he's out in
the first inning you see like, 'There we go again.'"
Morrison is hopeful of finding the right composure on plate soon. Taking positives from his outing on Thursday, he is looking forward to the beginning of a new journey in the season.
“I spread out and [Thursday] night I made some better contact to left field and then to right field on a 0-2 pitch, a cutter up and in I felt like I got to pretty well,” Morrison stated.
Looking at the way he swung in the last couple of games, one can establish, he is going to put up improved performances in forthcoming games.
Although extremely unsatisfied by his performance, the manager realises the importance of showing patience and giving him chances. At any time in the season, his prime can turn up and as a result can help the Marlins win crucial games.
The Marlins’ short-stop and third baseman, Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez respectively, took their time before becoming consistent performers.
Therefore, Morrison can take inspiration from them, instead of growing extra conscious about his weaknesses.
