India’s talented female shuttler, P.V. Sindhu is ready to put up a great show in the Women’s Singles category at the upcoming 2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix, starting from August 22 at the Ho Chih Minh city, Vietnam.
Sindhu, who is currently occupying the 95th place in the Women’s Singles world rankings, has been playing wonderful badminton for the last few months and has showed a lot of improvement in all aspects of the game. She has attended a short training
camp at the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Academy and is ready to shine at the Grand Prix event.
While talking about the venue of her training, Sindhu said, “Lucknow has been lucky for me because it was here that I was able to win India’s first medal at the Badminton Asia Youth Under-19 Championships in July (she won a bronze). Just after that, I won
the Indonesia International Challenge. I am working hard and I just hope to do well in the tournament at Vietnam.”
She is a passionate shuttler and has wonderful power in her smashes, which is her most effective weapon in matches. She dominates the game by playing attacking badminton. Now, she has been working with a focus to improve her defensive skills to become a
complete player.
While talking about her prospects in the Vietnam Open, the Indian shuttler, Sindhu said, “I will play my best and will go all out to bag a medal. My performances at the senior level — at the Maldives International Challenge and the Indonesia International
Challenge — have definitely boosted my confidence and I really intend to make a mark,”
Sindhu is progressing well by working in the right direction and she is quite determined to improve her world rankings and is expected to penetrate into the top 50 in the world rankings. After the completion of the Grand Prix tournament in Vietnam, Sindhu
will be heading to Isle of Man where she will participate at the Commonwealth Youth Games, which will kick-off in September, 2011.
