P. V. Sindhu trounces Yui Hashimoto in Women’s Singles quarter-final at India Open 2013
India’s passionate player P. V. Sindhu proved her worth as she reached into Women’s Singles semi-final after defeating Japan’s Yui Hashimoto in quarter-final clash of Yonex Sunrise India Open 2013 on Friday, April 26, in India.
The in-form Sindhu, who is the eighth seed in Women’s Singles main draw of India Open, did not let down her home fans as she played with staggering precision and outplayed Hashimoto in a dominating manner in 47 minutes.
India shuttler played with wonderful control in her shots and she did not let her challenger to dictate the pace of the game at any stage. She remained on track and easily won the battle in straight sets with a decent 21-16 and 21-16 score on the board.
The un-seeded Hashimoto, who stunned the top seeded Saina Nehwal in second round, failed to continue her giant killing performance against Sindhu and lost the battle without winning any set at the quarter-final stage.
The unmatched speed and attacking shots of Sindhu helped her to take control of the pace of rallies right from the opening points of first game.
The higher ranked Sindhu showed that she has obtained highest class skills in the arena and eventually successful in taking a strong position in the arena.
Sindhu remained in dominating position all the way in the opening half and she got a strong position until the one-minute break.
The match proceeded in the same way after the mid-game interval as Sindhu did not lose her focus in the arena.
Indian lady remained consistent in employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a comfortable 21-16 total on the board.
The lofty Sindhu did not lose her supremacy at any stage in the starting half of second game as she played with confidence and aggression.
Sindhu displayed her staggering craft in the arena by taking the bird timely from all corners and maintained her domination over her challenger.
The aggressive and positive play in the ending half of second set helped Sindhu to bag the set with a decent 21-16 margin on the board.
