What does PA Speaker mean? Like what does the PA mean? Preamp, i dunno.. do you still need a preamp for a pa speaker?

  1. PA means "public address".  It is an old term that just means a speaker designed to project sound to a large audience.

    Some PA speakers are "passive" and need an amplifier and others are "powered" and have the amp built in.
