PAL Vs NTSC?

PAL Vs NTSC why do we have two formats? does it not make sense to have one, i'd like to by a DVD and know its going to work where ever it comes from!

PAL is european standard broadcasting. it is widescreen and focuses more on picture quality, having a more hd quality to it.

on the other hand...most of north america works in NTSC. its full screen, and focuses more on sound rather than picture quality...when you tunr on your tv in north america...its the format already on your screen

I suggest go with PAL
