PAL xbox 360 games compatible with NTSC xbox 360 console?

Hi, I'm in Hong Kong right now, and I bought Ghost Recon 2, but it's the PAL version. I live back in california, so my 360 is ntsc, im guessing, but I also hear the xbox 360 console itself is region free, its just the makers of the game who decide whether or not to have it region coded. So i was wondering, would I be able to play ghost recon 2 PAL version on my ntsc xbox 360? If so, can you play all PAL games on ntsc 360s? Thanks!

no, the 360 ISNT region free, just the games.  But good news, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2  is REGION free.  If you have ANY questions on which game(s) are region free look at this nice organized chart, which is updated everytime a game comes out
