PARENTS...Have you ever said something...?

To one of your Children that you REGRET with ALL of your heart, because you did not mean it AT ALL and you just don't KNOW WHY...WHY...WHY you said it (besides being very HURT and angry at something they did)...how did you apologize and let your child know how DEEPLY...DEEPLY SORRY you TRULY ARE?

  1. I do it simply.

    After I calm down a short while later I tell them that I was sorry and that I didn't mean it.

    I don't go on about it because if you keep saying sorry it loses its meaning and sincerity. I say it with conviction.

    I frequently tell my child that I love him so he knows that I care. Beyond that, I believe you can overthink and overanalyse these things. You just have to get on with it and both of you move on to happier times...


  2. show them your question.  read them your question.  ask them your question.

    parents make mistakes.  sometimes bad mistakes.  this doesn't mean you don't love them, this doesn't mean they don't love you.
