Question:

PARENTS: Would you let your 15 year old daughter do a paper round?

My dad won't let me do a paper round in my local area because he thinks it's unsafe (I'm 15 and I don't live in an area known to be dangerous) and he thinks it will get in the way of my GCSEs (yet he still won't let me do a paper round in the summer holidays). My parents don't even earn much money so I can't ask for money all the time. I feel so embarassed because my boyfriend's parents are so rich and I feel bad for letting him pay all the time when we go out. What can I do?

  1. Wait till your 16 and reason with your parents that you can pay for your own gas and insurance if they will let you work. Otherwise, when you get your license, they will have to foot the bill.

  2. I'd have to side with your parents on this one. If your safety is even slightly in question, they'd never forgive themselves if they allowed it and then you were harmed.  If you're determined to earn a few bucks, there's many ways to do it - advertise for babysitting, tutor younger kids after school for a small fee, run errands for the elderly, advertise to clean houses a couple days a week. Don't give up just because a paper route isn't the right thing.   Find a way that you and your parents are both happy with.

  3. Just do the paperround, tell your parents that its not like your gonna get raped when youre delivering papers.

  4. You try get money

    See

    Daddies only want protect

    This is cruel world

You don't know what goes on in quiet hood

    I told me Daddy

    When, I was 15

I want draw the for people in French Quarter

He just laugh at me for a sign of h**l no

  5. I let my son do a paper route when he was seven. Just talk to your dad and tell him that you're responsible, you'll always have your phone, ect. Maybe he could come with you  a few times and show him that it's not dangerous.

  6. i wouldn't let mine.  Even though your area may usually be safe, you really can never know who is around you.  Also, criminals can travel.  If you had a normal job it might be more understandable so that your parents would know where to find you if they got worried.  Maybe you could see if you could find a job babysitting after school or a more stationary job somewhere.

  7. I did a paper route when i was 9, and nothing happened to me.

  8. I would probably not have a problem with what you want, but you do need to obey your father.  Are there other part-time jobs you could pursue?

  9. Listen to your dad. He has your best interest at heart. You will be 16 soon, and then you can get a nice safe job at a clothing store or something. And, do not feel bad about your boyfriend paying for everything. He is rich, and he's a MAN, so that's his job to take care of you like the queen you are.

  10. First of all don't be embarrassed by the fact that your not "Rich"  Second if they are gracious enough to pay for things let them.  Finally, I had a paper "route" when I was 12-15 and it afforded me an opportunity to do cool things that I would have been unable to do because I too grew up with "working" class parents with little money.  Believe me it is not a bad thing you learn to appreciate the things you get a lot more.  Smile.

  11. paper route is what it is called and yes i would if that is what she wanted to do!

  12. In this day and age I cannot blame your dad. I am a father myself and understand where he is coming from. What about a part-time job at a local fast food place? You can work at 15 with a special permit. Why do you feel bad when your bf pays? Is it his money or his parents? Just tell him or his parents thank you very much and when you have money you will treat them to dinner or something. I am sure they understand.

  13. Will i started a route at 10 so go for it.

  14. h**l yeah, i was doing it at nine

  15. If you're BF doesn't mind paying for things then let him do it and enjoy it!  It's not a bad thing to let a guy pay for everything, actually it's quite decent!

  16. Lol ive been doing a paper round since i was 7. theres nothing not safe about it
