Part 7: St. Louis Cardinals dominate the Texas Rangers

The St. Louis Cardinals seemed to have got their lesson from back to back defeats. As the Rangers continued their march with relative success, the Cardinals had to put a stop to it. This was done in one of the most exciting games of the World Series; one
that will go down well in the history of the game.
The St. Louis Cardinals won the Game 6 by 10-9 at a crucial moment, the 11th inning, to level the series just when the Rangers seemed all set to sweep the Series. David Freese got on the home plate at an incredible time and changed the face of
the game that will go down as a thriller in history.
David Freese homered to centre to bring an unlikely victory for the St. Louis Cardinals just when the Rangers were dominant throughout the game. As the game stood level in the 11th inning, his 428 feet homer against closer, Mark Lowe changed the
map of the game, bringing an awesome victory for the Cardinals to level the series by 3-3.
“I understand it's not over till you get that last out,” Texas manager, Ron Washington said. “I was just sitting there praying we got that last out. We didn't get it.”
For the former manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, it was an incredible victory. For Freese, who helped the team win an exciting encounter, the game would be a part of his memory. “Growing up or whatever, and you see stuff like that happen, those become
memories,” Freese said. “I'm just glad I had a chance after I looked like an idiot on that popup.”
Lance Berkman of the Cardinals had 3 hits while Hamilton had 3 RBIs to his credit. Ian Kinsler put together 2 RBIs for the Rangers. Berkman had a total of 4 runs that he scored while Allen Craig and David Freese had a run each. Despite all the performances,
David Freese’s homer in the 11th inning was the play that changed the result of the game in the favour of the Cardinals.
With the victory that the Cardinals scored, they had pronounced their return back in the series, raising alarm bells for the Rangers who - only last year, had lost the World Series finale to the San Francisco Giants.
The win had come to testify the manner in which the St. Louis Cardinals had performed throughout the series, especially in Game 6, where they seemed all determined and well-placed to rout the series at the end, causing huge frustration to the Rangers.
