  1. Always remember I am just giving my best guess, your schools fin aid office will always be the final and best answer.  :0)

    If you are taking 12 hours @ 73.16 = $887.92

then that means you would have $552.58 for fees, student ID, labs, student activity fee, parking permit, etc and books.

Usually you can find on the schools website how much the fees are.... I'd plan on at least 400 for books.

If your fees and books and other expenses (dorm?) add up to more than this yes, you will have to come up with more money.

However, are or did you get any scholarships, state grants, work study, or other aid in your fin aid package before?

Because the amount I quoted you was for the Pell grant only.  MANY folks get FSEOG (another federal grant you don't have to pay back), state grants, college sponsored grants, private scholarships, student loans, to cover the costs.

Don't give up hope or panic yet, just keep in contact with your fin aid office and ask when they will be sending you an "Award Letter".  This will list everything with the amounts on it.

  2. If you're taking 12 credit hours, you should have enough for tuition and books, but you may not get any money left over for a check.
