When will these trainers, that are notorious cheaters, get the message......their blatant disregard for the rules endangers the horses, jockeys and the entire sport. That French Frog should have been banned from training in the UNITED STATES.

  1. I've only just read the article on the Bloodhorse website.

Thank god someone in the States is now taking a firm hand with the unreputable trainers.  Let's just hope that other racing authorities follow suit - and quickly!

The next step will be to fall into line with the rest of the racing world and ban horses from running on ANY form of medication.  My thoughts are that if a horse needs to be medicated before it runs, it shouldn't be running (or breed from) at all.

  2. actually, there, dollface with your intellect.... he is banned. The ban is nationwide, it was just handed down by the Ky stewards.

  3. I 100% totally and completely agree with you.  The only good part of the ruling is that, in Kentucky, trainers are not permitted to transfer their stable to the name of an assistant or family member.  But still a lifetime ban would have been more appropriate.  Cobra venom has absolutely no theraputic value - it's sole purpose is to block a horse's pain receptors so that it can run faster without feeling an injury.  This is the worst kind of substance a trainer could be caught with as it endangers the lives of the horse treated plus every other horse and jockey that races against that horse.  Kick this bum out forever!

  4. Hopefully this one year suspension will dissuade a lot of owners from retaining his services again. I think he will have a hard time getting back into the game. May a large black cloud hang over the head of Patrick Biancone for a long time to come!!

  5. I was a little surprized that he didn't get longer too. He has really racked up quite a few violations in the past year. On both Coasts at that too! He had several on the West Coast for the  timing of when the medications were given, all the while the Cobra Venom charge was hanging over his head. I had heard his name linked with blood doping (EPO), but that rumor wasn't followed up on.

  6. I think a 1-year ban is fine.  It will get noticed by the horse racing community immediately.  Would I like to see longer, even a lifetime ban?  Sure, but there could be endless legal battles.
