Question:

PBX phone pros? Hunt groups on Intertel?

This is a simple question for you PBX pros. We have an Intertel Axxess phone system at my work and I am trying to figure out hunt groups. I have noticed the extensions 2705, 2706, 2709, and 2711 in the directory on the screen on my phone as I scroll through it with the names of each of the companies in my building for each.

I am used to answering calls and transferring to a specific person's extension and trying and retrying extensions for different people if the person is busy or on another call. My question is can I transfer the call to the hunt group number (if that's even what it is, which I think it is) and it will ring through to all the phones in the hunt group? Is my understanding of this correct?

Secondly, do you know how to view/modify the list of extensions in the hunt group without DB software? (if it is possible)

  1. I don't work with phone systems so I don't know the answer to this question, but the company that manages the phone network where I work is ITS and I bet they would know.
