Question:

PC's electric consumption?

i need help...just want to ask the electricity consumption of an "average personal computer"..i'm not good at these watts or volts thing, so i guess comparing it to another simple home appliance is the best way for me to understand it.. hmmm...lets put it like this... 3 avg TV = 1 avg PC ????

    Although the computers watt rating may be higher or lower than 120 watts, they do not consume that constantly, it depends on what the computer is doing at the time. So an average of 120 watts is used. ((120 x 24)365)/1000=1051.2, that is how much kilowatt hours the computer uses each year.

    that is about like a small space heater that is on most of the time.

    using some of the same reasoning a computer can end up producing over 1 half of a ton (1524 lb.) of CO2 if it were to be left on for all 365 days of a year
