Question:

PC Hardware requirements for Guitar Hero III?

I'm looking at the tech specs for guitar hero III, and it says "CPU Processor: Intel Pentium D (Dual Core) 2.8GHZ or AMD Athlon 64 3500+" (link: http://www.aspyr.com/product/game_specs/85)

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but does it honestly need a 2.8ghz DUAL CORE processor? You know how expensive it is to get that in a laptop? Most dells are only 2.0 - 2.6ghz unless you buy alienware and shell out an extra $600.

Anyone have any experience playing this on a pc? It's great on ps2, but these hardware reqs are making me lose respect for it.

Note: The fastest dual core I found on newegg.com was 3.33 - and that was for a desktop.

  1. Yes, it was poorly coded and does require a beefy system to run it.

    I have:

    Q9300 Quad-Core 2.5GHz

    4GB DDR2 RAM

    8800GTS G92

    X-Fi Fatal1ty

and I still had stuttering while playing GHIII.  I can play COD4 maxed out at 1600x1200 but GHIII stutters?  Lame.  But yeah, even if you have every requirement covered, it still might suck.
