PC backup. I backed up on PC back up. I beleive the version I made the backup on was an updated

I backed up on PC back up. I beleive the version I made the backup on was an updated version. Now I cannot download an updated version and am having trouble getting the data off the restore. I start the download by clicking on the pc back up icon and clicking "check for updated version".
It looks like it is downloading but gets quickly to 10% and does not go further.
