PCA Joint Secretary, G.S.Walia expects a house-full for India-Pakistan clash
The World Cup fever has reached electrifying levels, as the clash between the subcontinent mammoths inches closer. The semi-final match between India and Pakistan is due on Wednesday, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 30th at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. With the ticket counters closed, the demand and price for tickets in black is soaring high. The excitement amongst the cricket lovers suggests a jam-packed stadium on the day of the match.
"The PCA Stadium has got a crucial India-Pakistan match. We are expecting full stands on that day. There is a lot of craze among spectators for this match and our preparations are going on in full swing for this match," said G.S.Walia, the PCA Joint Secretary.
According to Walia, the Punjab Cricket Association can do little to control the black selling of World Cup tickets, but assured that only genuine tickets would make it through the security checks.
"It is an individual problem. For us, people came, stood in the queues and bought the tickets. We cannot keep track if they sell these in black...But we will ensure that there would be enough security checks to ensure the genuineness of tickets," he added.
So far the two archrivals have met each other in four World Cup matches with India beating Pakistan in all of them. However, Pakistan’s cricket history with 69 wins out of 119 matches suggests that they too are no pushovers.
Since 1997, Pakistan has stood triumphant against India in two of the six One-Day Internationals they participated in at the PCA stadium. The men in green earned a seven-wicket victory against India on April 1, 1999 on the same grounds.
India, on the other hand, won five out of the nine ODIs played at the PCA stadium, since November 1993.
The Indian cricket lovers will desperately await the display of Yuvraj Singh’s cricket prowess who is a native of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833, where the match is due. The veteran has already won the Man of the Match title four times in this tournament so far.
