PCB: A kaleidoscope of confusion
With the way the PCB is run, It would not be surprising if they import monkey’s from Africa to serve as officials in the PCB. If they then go on to say that the monkey’s are doing exceptionally well at handling the affairs of the PCB it would be believable, since cricketing fans have now come to the safe conclusion that PCB under http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 are no longer able to handle the Pakistan Cricket Board. They must be relocated to the administration of Wild life Parks where they will have to make sure animals get to live their wild lives in the wild.
Pakistan cricket is now a confusing kaleidoscope, where Ijaz Butt has successfully merged tripe soup with fruit trifle to create something that is simply mind boggling. The selectors somehow, fail to find talent from all three major provinces of Pakistan, and end up selecting players from one particular province. If this has to be the case then why the formality of naming it the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 XI?
The PCB really is pushing cricket fans to their limits, and waiting for something drastic to happen that would drag them out of their offices and on to the streets. With players like Asim Kamal, Bazid Khan, Khuram http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Manzoor-c74308 and many others who have failed to make it to the national side despite impressive performances on National and International level cricket.
Asim Kamal played absolutely brilliant cricket in his debut scoring 99 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and since then has played a series of impressive games for the national side. It is mind numbing how players like Imran Farhat, who have failed to find their form over the last couple of months in all forms of cricket positioning, have been named in the national side. One can only deduce, that Farhat is a gem of a family man who has made his father in law, a certain Mohammad Ilyas (currently working for PCB), threaten cricket officials against not selecting Farhat for the national side.
“Good players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamal-c70069, Faisal Iqbal and Taufiq Umar who had done well in the chances given to them were never allowed to settle down in the team and establish themselves,” says Amir Sohail.
There was once a time in Pakistan cricket when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 in a world cup match. Soon after coach Bob Woolmer was found dead in his hotel room with heart failure.
Woolmer tried his level best to reform Pakistan cricket, he tried to end the culture of politics, and make them a world class side, just like they were in the early 90’s. He died trying to save Pakistan Cricket, yet did not get to see it happen. The infighting amongst players had already started, with the gentle giant Inzi starting a legacy of grouping and politics that Pakistan cricket is infamous for.
“When Imran Khan retired, he left behind a pack of quality bowlers, when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580 retired he left behind a legacy of good batsmen. But when Inzamam retired he left behind nothing,” lamented Aamir.
If reforms are not taken to change the current administration, and completely revamp the system that has started to cause deep damage to the foundation of the PCB, then the situation at hand could get completely out of hand. The culture of nepotism, jobbery and an inept administration taking oxymoronic decisions needs to change urgently for the betterment of cricket in the country. If that cannot happen, then Pakistan must get ready to bid farewell to cricket and switch to another sport, maybe mud wrestling.
