The chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 tour.
Speaking to a news channel in Pakistan, Ijaz Butt advised the duo to either retire from international cricket or impress the selectors by their performance to get a place in the national team.
Butt lauded the performance of the national team and reiterated that the team had done the country proud by reaching the semi-final stage of the ICC World Cup 2011 despite the fact that everyone had written them off.
The chairman PCB expressed full confidence in the leadership of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 and praised head coach Waqar Younis for lifting the standard of the team. He acknowledged it was really tough for both the skipper and coach to carry a team which was marred by
all sorts of allegations and controversies due to the spot-fixing fiasco.
The PCB selection committee recently announced the squad for the upcoming tour of the Caribbean dropping major players from the national team which included Umar Gul, Younis Khan, Kamran Akmal and Abdul Razzaq.
According to details, Gul had requested not be considered for the series while the rest of the players were dropped for their poor show in the ICC World Cup 2011.
However, Pakistan’s phenomenal all-rounder Abdul Razzaq did not hold back and expressed his regret for being dropped from the team. He blamed the team management for his unimpressive performance and alleged that the management had not utilised him properly
during the World Cup.
Justifying his case Razzaq said, “I was told to bat at number eight and I hardly got a few overs in every match. So, where does the question of my not non-performance arise? How can one perform when he is batting at number eight and bowling just a few overs
in every match?”
The 31-year-old all-rounder reiterated that he was still capable of playing competitive cricket for another two to three years and not picking him for the West Indies tour was beyond his understanding. Razzaq revealed that he was ready to come to bat at
number three in the World Cup but the team management did not show any interest in promoting him up the order.
On the other hand, the ouster of Kamran Akmal was always on the cards as the butter-fingered wicketkeeper had been struggling behind the stumps well before the World Cup. Nonetheless, he was selected for the mega event to avoid the introduction of too many
changes in the national team right before the mega event.
However, he continued to struggle even in the global tournament where he dropped crucial catches and missed numerous stumpings that cost Pakistan dearly.
