Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ijaz Butt is extremely delighted over Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011 so far but said that the team was missing teenage pacer Mohammad Amir.
18-year-old Amir has been banned by the International Cricket Council for five years after he was proven guilty of being involved in spot-fixing in the Test match against England at Lord’s.
“Our team has done well without three top players, Amir, Asif and Salman Butt but I still feel the team misses Amir’s presence because of his excellent cricketing abilities,” said the PCB chairman while talking to the media reporters at
the Wagah border on his way to Mohali to see the much-anticipated World Cup semi-final against archrivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.

Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif.
The Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 were not among the favourites to reach the top four of the prestigious tournament. But Afridi and his team proved their critics wrong as the side lost only one group match on way to the semi-finals.
The chairman of the PCB was pleased with the kind of performance his men have shown in the tournament so far. He said that he did not intend to demoralise any player in the team by praising the banned teenager.
“…I don't want to demoralize anyone and there is no doubt the other bowlers have done their best for the team,” Butt clarified.
He was extremely satisfied to see his team qualifying for the top four and said that the players have shown the world what the Pakistan cricket is all about and the talent they possess.
“Given the tough times we have gone through since the last two years I think the team has already done us proud by coming this far. It has shown to the world what Pakistan cricket is all about and the talent we possess,” Butt added.
Ijaz Butt said was confident his Pakistan will do well in Wednesday’s clash of titans and hoped the pressure and the hype surrounding the match would not distract the players.
